24/7 system on test bench instead of case, safe?

As the topic says really, though will static be much of an issue?

It'll be on my desk but quite a distance way so I don't accidentally spill coffee and what not on it.

Static shouldn't be an issue.

Unless you are wearing socks on carpet, rubbing a balloon on your head and feeling it non stop. lol

No lol, but nice to hear. Looking at the T60 ATM. Summer just hit for me here in Land Down Under and no doubt in my mind it'll reach mid 30s lol

Dust can be a problem. It is not as easy to clean pcb. Also if you have pets, like cat, could be problematic.
As for possible contact with liquid, it is always risky too. You never know what is going to happen, some sort of prank for example (involving water). One tiny unlucky drop can ruin your entire rig. People put electronic devices inside cases for a reason
