it is 400... and even 300 is ridiculously bright. They have made it so bright because in theory, the 3d glasses shut off half of the light so the monitor seems darker, which was a flaw in previous 3d vision monitors. This one should maintain a bright image when using the shutter glasses. But you will be able to easily turn the brightness down for normal gaming.
Also the brightness will be the same across a 300cd/m2 LED or CCFL, but the LED will have much higher contrast ratio so will have deeper blacks, because the LEDs can turn themselfs completely off, but the CCFL tubes can only dim down their brightness.
I am wondering if this has the on-the-fly adjustment of the 3d image depth that the original 3d vision had on its signal box, but on the top of the monitor, I cannot tell by the pictures
