GTX 570 TFIII Battlefield 3

Hey guys, during the BF3 beta I was running everything on ultra with 2x AA and I was sitting around 55 fps outside. I've been hearing that on ultra settings it has been taking up 1.4gb of VRAM? How is this possible if my card only has 1280 mb of vram? If I SLI this card do you think I would be able to run everything max and full AA? Thoughts?

I get exactly the same FPS as you. 55 min. I have 1 570 and I'm currently in the process of SLI my 570. With two 570s im also 100% sure you will not have ANY issues at all running BF3 on max and never dropping below 60 FPS.

I'm personally going to wait till retail to SLI my card because I want to see the other maps and the full graphics to see if I actually need to SLI.

Do you think I could get full AA with only 1280mb of vram? When you sli cards does the vram combine?

I have gtx 570 sli, 850mhz.

I did drop below 60 fps. BUT mostly always above 60-80 range.

I'm on 1920x1200 also, all maxed. Hopefully they make it run better than beta.

Obvious is obvious. Its not worth SLIing with only 1GB VRAM. At least for recent games.

Many sources have said that "ultra" in the beta wasn't actually ultra.

Think about it as well, the beta was 3.5 gb... there is no way they could have had high res textures implemented.

Also, with my specs I had everything set on high with texture's set on Ultra. I was getting about 50-60 fps.

You really think so? I guess I have no hope for full AA unless I get at least a 2gb card then?

Beta was no where near how its going to look. It was said that you need one monster of a machine to run it on ultra. I forgot were i read it but even the guys who did close alpha testing had issues with the graphics and they have to go to sli and tri sli gtx 580's. So i guess you should just wait and see. I cant wait.
