Also I don't know what that dude meant by his galaxy s2 always crashs and the battery drains fast my gs2 never crashed once and there are ways to lower the battery consumption if you aren't lazy
It does always crash. The messaging app crashes on average once every two days now and the downloaded apps are less frequent. I always get the stupid 'android.exe' has stopped working error. I'm not the only one that suffers from it and the GHSII is not the only phone.

Also battery life sucks no matter which way you split it. I'm referring to 'out of the box' battery life as I feel it is important to compare products before modding. Both the iOS and Android are highly customisable once rooted/jailbroken so I see no point in trying to split hairs.

The Galaxy S2 has:
A faster CPU (dual 1.2ghz vs. dual 800mhz)
2x more RAM (1gb vs. 512mb)
A much higher rez front camera (2mp vs. vga)
A bigger screen (also its AMOLED)
It runs a much better, open source, OS
You can overclock on android (I've overclocked my Moto Milestone/droid to 885mhz from 550)
Its lighter
Its thinner
There are more free apps on android
The android market is growing much faster than the AppStore
Whilst the GSII has a bigger screen the 4S has a higher resolution.

The A5 may not be 'omg my megahurtz' but it is faster overall. source

I have to say Android is pretty "bleh" when it comes to stability. All too often there are bugs which tbh, are fixed by a reboot, but it's frustrating. For example, I couldn't download anything from the market place today until I had rebooted my phone. Then sometimes it doesn't pick up hdspa/3g network when leaving a wi-fi zone... and so on.

But still, despite it numerous and annoying short comings, I love the geeky apps and stuff attached to it.
I did a quick search through the thread and didn't see this mentioned yet. One advantage to getting another iOS device is any apps you have already purchased can still be used on your next device rather than needing to re-buy any Android equivalents. Also, you understand the interface of the OS and so you won't need any real learning curve.

Have you played extensively with an Android device? I would highly suggest you do before you decide to purchase a phone with the OS.

My vote is for the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 for the following reasons:

-You will deal with an OS that you already know how to deal with and have mastered it, so you wont have to learn everything from zero.
-Build Quality (probably the best build quality on a phone on the market. Cannot be compared to the overall plastic build of the galaxy)
-Design (the most beautiful and classy phone there is on the market)
-Battery life (numerous times longer lasting battery than the galaxy s2)
-App Store (awesome games, awesome apps, there is NO app that you cannot find in that store, also if u jailbreak you can get every single app for free, cannot compare it to Android Market, it would be embarassing. Yes i know Android Market is growing fast and its impressive but still the number is too low compared to App Store)
-Higher Screen Resolution (The Galaxy has a bigger screen, makes browsing the web and watching movies or games a better enjoyful experience, but what can you do with that awesome screen when there are no games or apps to take advantage of it? )

PS: Dont start flaming me and calling me an Apple fanboy..im just saying my opinion as you are saying yours..

The galaxy S II is the better phone over the 4s. Look at some video review. you can see that the iphone 4s gets beaten in almost every test they did. Also Siri was a joke during the test, it takes longer to process (example sending a text). So imagine the Nexus Prime

Thats false accusation, and i think your talking out of your ass. ive own the iphone2g, 3g and 4. I was never 100% satisfied and the lies and manipulation from apple is horrendous. Phone always drops calls losses signal, its pure garbage. Instead of a recall and do the right thing and fix the issue, they looked at there bottom line and taught to them self this is going to hurt them so they afford a free bumper. that doesnt fix the issue thats a band-aid. Every new model has a minnor update that should have been on the phone a long time ago. For example the first model no 3G lol thats bs, your telling me they couldnt add that to the phone. im telling you they probably have specs and updates and designs for the iphone until there 10 model. So now i have my eye on the Nexus Prime, should be a beast compared to the 4s. Which to me isnt even worth it of an upgrade, and still Apple calls it a revolution and very innovative. They got all the apple fans suckered in like candy. Every new shiny hardware they they its new never seen done before and people fall for it and buy it. Those are the people I feel bad for. Im like everyone else who love performance and want the best on the market. And ill tell you as of right now thats not the ip4s its the GSII. It beats it in most tests and thats been out since july or so. Wait till the Nexus Prime and see what a beast thats going to be.

Get the Galaxy S II. It's better than the iPhone in internals, and the android os is much less restrictive on what you can do with it and how you can customize it. Going from an IPhone 3GS to a HTC Incredible S, it took a little getting used to the Android os, but once I did I fell in love with it.
I'd suggest you get the Samsung, but if you want to get what you are used to, the 4S is alright too I guess.

Apple has a good marketing department they make their products seem like the holy grail.

What kind of gs2 do you have I own the international version so that is why you probably had issues. Also you say that apple is highly customizable but most people get android phones because of it being open source I highly doubt most people buy an iphone just to jailbreak it

Guys, the SII does not have better internals than the 4S! Go read some reviews.

I also have the international version of the SII, and whilst I admit that the Android OS is more customizable than iOS, iOS is still highly customizable.

Also, I refute the fact that Android is open source. It has never been and never will be open source.
