Well that was rather odd...(gtx 470)

I was playing SC2 when all of a sudden I get some bad artifacting and then I just drop down to terrible framerates. I quit the game and my temps are ~70C which isn't too bad. I start up the Witcher 2 to see if I get problems with it and I got terrible framerates there too. I restarted and now it's working just fine. Never had this happen before. Any ideas on what caused it?

Did you overclock the card?

I had it at (675/1350/1700) when stock is (607/1215/1674). No voltage changes.

Which driver version are you using? I've had various problems (aside from the artifacts you mention) in various recent releases. Typically bad fps (card switches clocks for no reason) and crashes (games) or lock ups (rarely).

Try rolling back 1 step to the official ones, see if that makes a difference. Beta is over and by the game the game comes we should have an official release.

Hmm...ok I'm going to reinstall windows soon (getting a crucial m4) so I'll just use the official then. It's never happened before though and I've been using these since release.
