Eyefinity rig for Battlefield 3?

Thread Starter
Sup, I'm new to the forums and I need a new rig. Not one for small talk or TL;DR so this is what i got...

Goals:
-Eyefinity, 3xHD res monitors
-Battlefield 3 to be playable 3xHD res at good settings and acceptable fps
-Quiet, hate noisy comps
-future proof, don't wana change anything in a good few years, n even then i'd like it just to be the cpu/gpus
-it's gotta look sexy
-~£2500 ($4000)

Done research n made several iterations before posting here so hopefully it's not embarrassingly bad... anyway...

3 x Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23"
Intel Core i7 3.4GHz 2600K
3 x Sapphire ATI 6950 TOXIC 2Gb VRAM
4 x Corsair vengence 4Gb @1600Mhz
Corsair Force Series 3 120Gb SSD
Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3
Corsair AX1200 1200W PSU
Corsair Graphite 600TM white edition
EK Supreme LT 120 watercooling kit
3x EK-VGA GPU waterblocks + additional tubing/connectors etc

total: ~£2500

so what you think? i can't honestly think of a better solution for the price, and it's sexy lol.

cheers,
Severe

Agreed. Change the corsair SSD to a crucial m4 and change the case to the corsair 800d

Yeah go M4, unless you're feeling lucky.

I'd go 6970's unless those toxics are all garunteed to unlock

ppl keep gettin the EK stuff, tbh I would just go with heatkiller blocks. This coming from a dissatisfied EK customer.

also, i would take a look at the EVGA Classified Hydro Series 580s, 3GB edition. Some sick cards, and the built in waterblock are top quality.

Even with water cooling your cards you will still have fan noise if you get good fans for the radiator and for exhausting the heat out of the case. I do not see how you will get a silent computer capable of doing what you are looking for. Mine is loud but I have headphones on while playing so it really doesnt matter. You need to spend the extra money for the 6970's. Wasting your time unlocking 6950's and Oc'ing them, is just that, a waste of time and oyu risk bricking the cards. You can find 6970's in the low 300's after MIR's Usually MSI has a MIR program.

I agree with everyone else. Do not fall into the hype of Corsair and OCZ SSD's and the sandforce controllers. Sure some of them are technically faster than M4's but not always and they fail really often. Get a M4 128gb SSD. Also get the largest case you can if you plan to do a nice Watercooling loop. You will be glad you have the extra room. It sounds like you have some money to spend so get a Case Labs case. You may have to wait a bit for it to be made but it will be worth it. That is my next upgrade.

Couldn't agree more............. it's a wonder there are any
satisfied EK customers after the recent nickel block fiasco...............

agree, the 800D is nice, I really like my 650D but I wish I had more room. That Case will run you 300$, think about swapping the 2600K for the 2500K and using the extra 100$ to get a CaseLabs, They have sick cases. Take a look at their subforum on the mainpage near the bottom.
