Thread Starter
So guys, i cant speak english very good (im mexican) but now I have a 250 GTS but with a generic PSU and im searching a cheaper (but not generic) psu for it, it says nVidia than I require a 450w PSU with a 12v rail over 24a and I have enough bucks for a PIXXO JAGUAR PW600 - 600W 24PINES and a COOLER MASTER Elite Power 460W what do you think guys?, my gaming rig is a i5 650 @3.2 Ghz, 6 GB of DDR3 dual channel RAM (2 sticks) and a barracuda hard Drive of 250GB.

Thanks in advance.

The wattage i.e. (460w vs. 500w) is not as important as the amperage for the 12v rail. I used to have have a generic 300w PSU from an old dell and it ran a 125w Phenom II x6 plus a 8500 GT fine. So basically don't worry about the wattage just focus on the 12 volt amp rating, probably 12v@30A to be safe so the PIXXO or the Cooler master would work but I would recommend the PIXXO because if for some reason the two rails are separate It still has enough current on one rail to work.

where do you plan on buying from so we can make a recommendation.

Of the 2 you posted, I would pick the CM over the Pixxo.

from preference I want to to buy it in mexico, its cheaper the Pixxo, but I hear than the CM of Elite Power is trash, and Pixxo have two models for certification 80 (800w and 1000w), so I was thinking that this is best. Or if anyone have the CM PSU can say to us how works and if is best than the Pixxo.

HERE is a review of the Elite 460. It is not the greatest, but it is not the worst thing either. It is really a 400 w unit marked as a 460. It is still powerful enough for a 250 though.
A post here about it also (actually links to the review).

I actually have one sitting in my garage right now. It was in a friends build for about 2 years powering an Athlon 2 x2 and 8800 GTS 320 and I had it powering a Phenom II x4 and a GTS 450 for about a week before i got a new PSU.

Are you looking at an online shop or a local store? I would look for an Antec, Corsair or Some OCZ PSU's.
Look at this thread for recomended PSU's.

A GTS 250 is a 150w GPU. I don't know what other stuff they have running in the chart above (which shows total system use), but I have a GTX 460 (160w) a 125w cpu with 1 hdd and 4 fans and it uses a max of ~320w.

The Cooler master would work. I would still look for a better PSU though (An Antec 430w would work just fine)
