the CPU handles only rigid body physics i.e. structures, falling objects, etc... So a processor intensive game would have more structures and building falling apart. Which is why the 3dmark11 cpu test has a bunch of falling balls and crumbling structures

No way can you max out Metro 2033 with your sig rig. Maybe in DX9 you can.

any turn based strategy games uses more CPU than GPU

the best example I can think of is Supreme commander 1 and maybe 2

or Civ 4 or 5 or Europa Universalis 3

It's not CPU intensive all the time, just in large open areas.
