sig rig below.
as you can see i currently have 2 gtx 470's i am on the verge of replacing with 2 580's im thinking ill get 2 3gb versions and add a 3rd next year. im going to skip the keplar thing i think and just wait till the next stage.
i will be watercooling them as well before the end of the year.
should i get the 3gb versions or would 1.5's be fine. i only am using 1 monitor at the moment but i do see myself going 3 within a year.

I really dont see the need for that much Vram if your using one single Display.

If you want to future proof yourself, and want to get like 3 displays, go for the 3gb

I would go for 3Gb cards even if you didn't want to get triple monitors eventually. When you are considering two or three 580s that is a whoooole lot of processing power to only have 1.5Gb of VRAM to play with. For a single 580 1.5Gb is about right, but for the amount of power you are looking to buy the extra VRAM is a good decision. In terms of raw GPU processing power 3 580s will be a force to be reckoned with for many years, but the future capabilities of only 1.5Gb of VRAM are much more volatile. So for more than a single 580 I personally would go 3gb even on just a single 1080p screen, but for you going triple 580s and triple monitors 3Gb is a no brainer.
