If you have the space for them, go with the MSI 570s in SLI. You can't sandwich them together like reference cards, due to the protruding fans though.

Playing the BF3 beta, what kind of vRam usage did you experience running 570's SLI?
I will be playing at 1200p and 1080p.

MSI R6970 Lightning
or
EVGA GTX 570 Classified

-- The MSI Lightning you mentioned has more vRam.
-- I have read the Classified suffers from a design flaw because of the incorporation of a display port. Even though the Classy is an External Exhaust card, around 30% of the heat being pushed out of the card is actually pushed through the side vents on the card and into the case. Other than this design flaw resulting in increased case temps, I read the Classy is a great card compared to other GTX 570s.

Just joined to answer this vram question. With a 6990 and BF3 full version I'm regularly seeing 2.5 - 2.6 GB ram used which is very surprising at only 1080p. I think the more vram you have the more BF3 will use it loves to use it.

The thing is i don't think BF3 needs to use 2.5GB to perform well becuase you can see for yourself in benchmarks that two 1.5GB 580's can eat the game so two of those or even two 570's 1.2GB would be more then enough at 1080p.

Even if you max out your Vram, you still can easily pull 70+ fps maxed with the 570's.

This Vram myth was started by the AMD cards.

I would buy neither of those. My choice would be a couple of MSI GTX 560-TI 2GB cards... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127608&Tpk=gtx%20560 thumb.gif

This is a good point. Two of those would be nice. For the price and for BF3 nothing would beat the price of 2 560 with 2gb VRAM.

First of all, Bf3 beta didnt have ultra setting and what not optimized... If you are running 1080p then 570 is absolutely enough... vram is not a big issue @ this res!
So SLI 570 is what i recomend thumb.gif

Indeed, 2x570s chew up a single 580, if you can get the 570 to past 850 on the core then you have a 580!! And 2 of them at that!!

I wanted the classified but couldn't find it for the life of me, I would
In a heart beat take the classified, oh running bf3 at 1200 ultra max aa at solid 60fps (vsync) love these cards!!

I would get a second 570 if the price is right. Would be much cheaper and new video cards are just around the corner if you want to invest in some new hardware.
