That is because both of those options are practically antique, in the computer or audio world.

Step 1) Figure out how many channels you need.

For professional recording production you should be looking at ProTools and USB interfaces. But ProTools ain't cheap. Neither are USB DAC/recording interfaces. If all you want to do is mess around on guitar, you may be able to get away with an M-Audio Mbox USB interface @$500 or so with ProTools.

I use Fruity Loops as my daw. Not sure if I want to make the leap to Pro Tools. What I want to do is write music using guitar pro like in this video.

I would also like to get rid of crackling pops or lags in my audio when having too many effects on a track.

an example would be

This only happens when I have too many mixer effects.

Well if your really going to for studio gear and stuff then that'll be expensive because

you'll need expensive headphones and expensive amp's so probably a 3 thousand dollar

budget, but you probably don't need that. I have a nice setup and i seriously don't need

anything else, Music sounds pretty much perfect. My setup is Beats by Dr.Dre Studio

headphones and a Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium HD listening to Wav files at 96 Hz

sound's AWESOME. When you turn Asio on you hear no difference AT ALL except maybe

something really really minuscule and i have great ear's so yup that's my 2 cent's.
