1x 6950 or 2x 6950 or 1x 6970

I am getting a new card(s). I will be watercooling for the first time. I just want to know, which one in the title. Eye is set on this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102951 I just need some professional's opinions.(you all)

I game some and screw around the rest of the time. I have two 1920x1200 monitors.

Games I play off and on are like Starcraft II, Deus Ex, and in the future Diablo 3

Well if you're getting that card, you can try unlocking it. I heard that it has a very high possibility of unlocking it to a 6970 too..

I have never unlocked or overclocked a card. Is it worth it?

Please dont be mistaken , an unlocked 6970 is not = to a 6970 because their are possible complications that could happen , a 6970 has not been tested beyond what is is being "sold" as.....

if you can afford a 6970 rather just get it......that way you wont have any risk of stuff going wrong!

He's right, 6970s are physically different products, most notable among such differences is the fact that they use different ram chips rated for higher frequencies.

If you compare the original ref PCBs the 6950s has a cluster of SM resistors next to the chokes and power circuitry which are absent on the same version of the 6970. The 6970 also has an 8+6 pin input, which doesn't really mean much.
