I'm about to get something like this to do under my desk and bed.

My top pick WAS the GRUNDTAL Spotlight from IKEA but since I can't seem to find it in black...

Those LED strips with the 3M adhesive look very intriguing. Do you have any more links with those in different colors? Is there a specific brand that I can check out? Any actual pictures of what it looks like behind your desk?

I am still leaning more towards something like a spotlight accent rather than just a glow so I welcome any of those suggestions.

These come in black too, but when you click on the black option, the description changes and doesnt mention whether or not it comes with a cable/plug or not.

The single version comes with a 4ft cable/plug

If you're going for the the warm look, LED's probably aren't your best option.

Those Hampton Bay lights, how do they get power?

If I get each light individually it appears as if they come with a 4 foot plug - is this a wall outlet that it refers to? I don't want to run anything through a wall.

What if I get the three kit? How does it get power?

The only reason I ask is because I read a review and it looked confusing. :X

You can obtain the warm look from LED lighting very easily, just make sure they are multicolor ones. You want easy access to good LED kits and good customer advice, go to BarLighting.com. They have a forum where the guy can give you great advice on your needs.

Okay! The three light kit just plugs into the wall. Each light plugs into the extension cord that it comes with and the extension plugs directly into the wall.

here is the diagram on the back
