Who else refuses to pay to play with dual vid cards? - Page 6

Um~ I get 60fps on Med, and I'm completely fine with it. I don't need Ultra settings to have fun with a game I've been waiting nearly half a decade for.

They are not making you run their game at max. Don't get butt hurt because your e peen is getting a little shorter. Besides we have similar systems and i played the beta maxed with 4xaa and no slow downs it looked great. Sure it isn't going to be the max settings when the game comes out but it will still look the same if not better when the new nvidia drivers come out.

What about the rest of my PC? Better than yours. The 570 is being upgraded as we speak.
My posts are no more instigative as yours are courteous. And sorry, I though you were talking about Riou, infact I made it clear that I was addressing you bout Riou in my first reply and you said he called you out first the. I said no he'd did not.

Also I'm upgrading to an SIPS 1600p + mech keyboard (reds) and possibly SBE, but most likely not. And 570 sli (assuming thats what youre upgrading) still has less graphics prowess than my setup, so you're only winning on the CPU side of things

Last I checked PC games had the ability to change graphical settings, so it should work out for the people with excessive gpu power (me) and the people with less gpu power (you) in regards to playing the same game.

I hope that helps.

Even to the point where I'm hearing rumors that nvidia is forcing developers to make their games run best on SLI based PC rigs and that their drivers won't be fully utilized on a single video card based setups?

Umm...im sorry, perhaps my priorites in life are screwed up, but even being the gamer that I have been since I was 7, and a PC gamer since I was 12, I personally don't have the desire, or means to justify spending my hard worked for cash on TWO freaking video cards in the price range of $500-700 JUST so I can play modern PC games with playable framerates and decent quality settings.

Wow.... if this truly is is an indication of where PC gaming is headed, is it any wonder why consoles are utterly taking over the gaming world? Many people cannot justify, let alone afford especially in these tough economic times to fork over the cash to pump pretty looking pixels across a decent sized PC monitor at "playable" framerates of 50-70fps

So sorry, but if PC gaming has crossed this kinda threshold, you can be rest assured i'll be parting out my rig, buying a decent *NON gaming* capable laptop for my PC needs and spend the rest of my years on Xbox 360 and its successors in the years to come on a nice, big 55+ inch LCD TV with surround sound and only "NEED" to fork over 300-$500 ever couple of years for a new version of a console gaming system to get my gaming fix.

Screw that crap
LOL, lower your setting/resolution and a 9800GT will run the game.

Get a smaller monitor.

I'm happy that games are starting to catch up with hardware, i want some more eye candy.

Now of course if you want all the eye candy the game can give you ought to buy some more expensive graphics card.

Better yet, dont like it? Do just like you said, buy your self a console.

personally, i wouldn't go SLi, only Tri-SLi. 2 cards and you have stuttering, need 3 to get rid of it.

I'm probably going 3x GTX 670s in Tri-SLi when kepler comes out (assuming it's not worse than Southern Islands in Tri-Crossfire). It will be my first time going SLi (or Crossfire); & probably my only time. But 2012 is going to be a big year for gaming & I can catch up w/ all the great games that came out this year which I've skipped because I want to play them at Super-Max settings.

Im getting tired of people calling me a rich moron just because I have 2 GPU's. Im not rich or a moron. I am however a hard worker, who saves his money and has a very understanding wife who lets me indulge my hobby.

I think op is getting his knickers in a knot. I really dout Nvidia drivers are going to focus on sli and people with only one card will suffer.
I think you may have been listening to some noobs that talk ****. Fair enough Nvidia will focus on sli because it's an area that needs improvement, but that is all.

I have a problem with the source of the problem(DirectX), not the remedy(Buying MOAR VIDYA CARDS.)

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/gra...l-to-directx/1

And yes, anyone that wants to play with Ultra settings in BF3 needs two video cards at anything over 1920x1080. I played the BETA on Ultra and my sig rig dipped down to high 30's. A single 580 will not allow you to play over 60fps 24/7.

...And the beta doesn't even have full graphical settings supposedly.

You NEED two cards because of Direct X.

tl;dr? Yell at Microsoft.
