i3 2105 vs. A8-3850 ? - Page 2

There was a post a few days ago about someone having issues with an APU in Linux. Apparently the driver didn't recognize the integrated GPU and he was having video and resolution problems.

I'll see if I can find it for you...

Edit: http://www.overclock.net/linux-unix/...watermark.html

So if you indeed plan to run Linux (Myth?) then the Intel may be a better choice for you. It's also a faster chip if that matters...

the movie quality watching it should be unoticible compared to watching in software rendering instead of hardware rendering.
With transcoding media....thats a whole different ballgame. Intel quicksync just plain SUCKS in quality. Sure it transcode faster then others but the quality of the transcoded video just plain suck.
Theres an article somewhere on Tomshardware about it. Ill try to find it.

edit: I may have over exagerate the suckyness but its still noticable.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...sync,2839.html

I tried it out with my 2600k vs just plain software encoding through cpu and the difference in quality is noticable

Watching the movie though, you will hardly notice a difference between the two cpu in hardware decoding.

I really don't think there is image difference between the 2 brand. BTW go A8 or A6, the integrated GPU is a lot better. If there is driver issues in Linux for the A-Serie, just wait for a fix, it's not like it will stay bugged..
