So...still haven't gotten a definitive answer on to keep the 2nd card or not
I know right now gaming playing black ops and deus ex, I get 50-60 fps, maxesettings and the most CPU usage I have seen is 45-50%

Get the 2nd card -- It'll hold you over 'til the new cards arrive next year.

I'm currently running two 6870's in xfire and they run great.

I guess what im really asking, are the performance gains really worth the price of the second card, or would i see better performance getting an SSd or a better CPU?
An ssd would make the biggest impact. I would just get the 2nd 6870 and overclock your cpu though -- then start saving for a whole new platform (cpu-mb-SSD).

In game performance, definitely not an SSD. Probably GPU instead of CPU since most games are more GPU intensive.

Cool. Yeah, think after talking with you guys and a buddy of mine, goign to keep the GPU and spring for a new CPU... cant decide between an X4 o a Thuban.... the X4's have better benchmarks in gaming.... buth te X6 might be a little more future proof.

I recommend going with the newly out FX processor. You already have the AM3+ MOBO so I see no reason why to not upgrade to the new FX CPU's.
