What CPU to get for this future rig?

Thread Starter
Just so you know, i will still have the sig rig, the rig i am planning on buying is for my nephew to replace his computer(which is my old AGP pc).

What i have so far:

ASRock Extreme4 970 AM3+.
HD5770 with the plan to buy another one in the future for CF.

Now, i know that this mobo supports bulldozer but i am going to be buying most of the parts used. The CPU will be used. I also understand the 5770 is now old, and in 1 year or less the new games will crush it, but my nephew does not play GPU intensive games(he is just 7).

What CPU do i get that will not bottleneck much two 5770s in Crossfire?
Have in mind that i do not wish to spend a lot of money, this was all supposed to be a budget rig. So i can't really buy a Thuban or a 970 phenom II. I will also be using the Stock/box cooler of the CPU so while i want performance i do not want heat(but give me your recommendations still)

Why not just take the MB + CPU from your sig and get a fx-8150 for the AM3+ board? 5770 should be fine for a 7yo kid

I am sorry i do not understand what you mean by taking my Mobo + CPU from my sig rig.
As i said, there will be two computers, one for me and one for my nephew. Sig rig is for me.
And bulldozer is expensive, there is no used bulldozer yet.

555 BE will do fine and it's the cheapest Phenom II.
Unlocked multi, has the L3 cache and you may even wind up with extra cores you can use but if you do, know that temps will rise as extra cores are enabled if it unlocks.
It will also run cooler in it's stock config than a tri-core or quad since it normally has less cores active.
If buying used it won't be that expensive and even a new one is under $90 at the egg right now.

Buy yourself a nice new chip and board, and give him your old parts. Simple. You get an upgrade, he gets a new machine. Win

any Phenom II X4 will do it , you said the CPU gonna be used with stock cooler ,
i dont think you mind putting 20$ on CM212 in the future , so if bottleneck happened you can do some OC
