Laptop Overclock - Page 2

You CAN overclock a laptop - Mine is, by a fair bit (CPU by 1.2ghz, GPU by about 15%) - BUT its only really possible if its got a massive heatsink. For example, my laptop runs 4 heatpipes from the CPU, and 4 from the GPU - its basically a desktop cooler in the thing.

Your laptop, on the otherhand, has very little in the way of cooling. In addition, its an integrated GPU - you'll get very little out of it. If your FPS in games is low, its going to stay low, BEST case is you MIGHT gain 1-2fps, nothing insane like the 20% gains seen in some liquid cooled desktops.

you can set your fan to run full speed all the time, but it won't change your temps at max load; when they are high the fan is already running at full speed in all likelihood.

if you're looking for better gaming performance, you need to buy a laptop with a discrete graphics card, not an integrated one.

as far as what you can do with your system now, if you have the right chipset, then install GMA booster. This will help some.

I don't believe that it is possible to overclock an integrated intel GPU.
