Do you think Nextgen consoles will be more 1080 supported? - Page 2

Yeah I just wondered because I sold my 32in 720P set to go to a 37in 1080p set for more future proofing for consoles. a BIG majority of my time is on Consoles so I wanted to make sure that a 140.00 upgrade would be justified.

alot of games are not even 720P so thats where I started thinking if they will finally push native 1080p. I did notice going from 720 to 1080p is the PS3 XMB it looks more crisp now then it did on my 720p set

Your average console gamer can't tell the difference between a true native res and an upscaled res.
This is pretty much it. They already can do 1080p, but the games themselves sacrifice doing so for other areas. However, I think 1080p will be able to be used in conjunction with what type of quality we have now, and then some, so yes, I think it'll be more standard.

Another thought is that HDTVs were still far less common when the consoles came out. Most of them are probably just 720p anyway.

If i remember correctly the tech in the current gen consoles was old even by 05/06 standards. So i wouldn't get your hopes up

But 1080p is always nice to have anyways, if you can get it for cheap then i don't see why not
