How to overclock GSkill Ram 1600Mhz?

Thread Starter
How does one go about it? I am a newbie when it comes to this stuff so a step by step guide on how to overclock the Ram without blowing up my PC would be very helpful.

Some good reads for AMD systems right here

Understanding Memory Speeds :http://www.overclock.net/amd-memory/555061-guide-am3-cpus-ram-speed-faster.html

Understanding low latency : http://www.overclock.net/amd-memory/555061-guide-am3-cpus-ram-speed-faster.html
(BTW Amd set ups like low latency (tight timings and lower freq...like 1600 and below)

But biggest thing first is to find the CPU frequency and making sure your stable with what your set at...

Then you can lower the Multiplier down to keep the Bus speed up and find the highest point the memory will go to...

So if you look under your board youll notice the muliplier and buss speed increase bus speed to increase the Freq. of the memory...start raising that and you can get to the highest your system will post at...(watching of course your CPU GHz) hence why you lower your Multiplier down to like 10 and below

Sorry i just woke up

I have my 1600mhz gskill which is rated @ 9-9-9-24 2T running at 1666mhz @ 9-9-9-24 1T voltage @ 1.55v (stock for mine is 1.50v)

You can generally push up the voltage to around 10% more so if your ram is rated @ 1.5v you can push it to 1.65v safely. Also some motherboards may require you to up the CPU-NB voltage around 0.1v
