lga2011 rig, comments welcome

Thread Starter
Ever get that "f**k it, you only live once" bank breaking thought when you're making a new rig.

Goals:
-pwn
-100% future proof (I would like it 2 run Battlefield 3 & 40k DMO on 3xHD res Eyefinity, maxed out. Yes I know the latter doesn't come out for 2 years but still.)
-I also do use a lot of cpu intense simulation software on a daily basis so want to push my budget to the new sandy-bridge e 6 core series.
-afford nothing but grass to eat for the next 6 months

so yeh, my new rig take two...

Budget: ~£3000

Asrock z79 Extreme 7 (~£300) estimate
Intel Sandy Bridge-E 3930K (~£500) estimate
Intel thermal liquid cooler thing (~£50) estimate
Nvidia gtx550ti 1Gb 4GHz VRAM physx (£100)
Crucial 4x4Gb DDR3 2GHz quad-channel: (~£80)
Crucial RealSSD 4M 128Gb (~£150)
4x Akasa Apache Black Super Silent 120mm fan (~£50)
Corsair AX1200 1200W PSU (~£220)
Corsair Graphite 600TM (~£130)

-Plan for Eyefinity awesomeness come the release of AMD 7000 series

3x Dell Ultrasharp 23†LED monitor (~£650)
2x AMD Radeon HD 7970 (crossfire+550ti dedicated physx) (£~don’t care) estimate

Total = ~£3200 ($5000), assuming 2x7970 is around £1000

What you think? I thought about water cooling for the GPUs, but recent rumours hint towards the 7970 using a lot less power and having it's own internal liquid cooling solution.
I know one thing lol, it certainly meets the 4th goal.

Cheers,
Severe

Welcome to the forums Severe
Dont jump onto something you arent sure of its performance yet.
Thats the only thing I can say atm

Yea, looked what happened with the bulldozer release. Hopefully AMD will fix that though......

I'm also going SB-E but i'm not buying on day of release, i'm checking out the performance numbers before i jump in. Not sure about the dedicated Physx card being needed to be honest, most GPU's now handle it with ease and future cards even more so.

Another thing to consider given your budget is taking a look at 120Hz screens.
