3x 120Hz Eyefinity Portrait Setup

3x 30" was a setup I had previous done and it was a bit overwhelming. Not to mention I do not care for 60 Hz.

This is my attempt at a portrait setup running 120Hz smoothness yet retaining some of the benefits of high resolution and also having a THIN bezel:

This took quite some custom work and is about as thin as bezels as I think can be possible for Eyefinity. Now I knew before going into this that TN panels have serious viewing angle restrictions that is exacerbated in portrait. Although, the largest fall-off is on the right hand screen on the last 1/3rd, it doesn't bother me a great deal as it usually only is quite noticeable on dark images.

On the desktop above straight on you can see it handles fairly decent. Still tweaking the screen alignment.

Cons: Viewing angle especially on outer portion of right screen is livable but could be better.

Pros: 120Hz smoothness, thin bezels, glossy panels (personal preference), LED low power/heat, decent high-resolution.

Planning on playing BF3 and Guild Wars 2 on this setup.

What do you guys think?

Nice to see, but not a fan of portrait setups myself.

Have you tried a portrait setup before? Landscape is way too narrow for myself. Especially if you want 120Hz, 3x 1080p is around five times as wide as it is tall. Just not natural.

Oh and I've got the displays all aligned and I have measured the gaps between lit pixels on adjoining screens. 6.3 millimeters which turned out quite darn good. My goal was to keep it under 1 centimeter.

oh oh.....you just bought those sexy sammys i was interested in. Probably the thinnest bezels i've seen on a 120Hz display. There similar to the Samsung TV's with that perspex glossy overcoat they have on them which extends outside of the bezels. Which is a pain, but you seem to have done something about that.

Could you possibly do a personal review on them for OCN?

Looks amazing! This is the only type of eyefinity setup that would tear me away from my U3011. Too bad it takes heavy modding to achieve.

I can't believe you game FPS with a trackball

Edit: Wait, is that a picture of 3x30 or the 3x23. The monitors in that picture look really nice!
3x23" 120Hz. 3x30" is great for flight sims but a bit overwhelming for FPS. Mainly made this setup for BF3 and Guild Wars 2.

I get around 120-150FPS in BC2. Although I do not have any delusions of running BF3 on Ultra and getting ~120FPS with 2x OC'd 6990s, I bet if I turn down a few settings I can reach that. Like 4x AA isn't really useful at this resolution, 2x works just fine.
