Need a Z68 Motherboard for a 2600K (from MicroCenter)

Alright.... so MicroCenter is running the deal if you buy a 2600K ($280) and a Z68 Motherboard you get $80 off the total price. Well, I need to see if it is worth it. And in order to do that I need a recommendation for a Z68 Motherboard.

This is what they have to offer at Micro Center from what I can tell.

Looking for:
  • Quality and Reliability (including BIOS... I hate some of the boot loops, etc. the P67 boards had)
  • Easy to Use
  • Onboard connection for up to 4 SATA III drives
  • Onboard USB 3.0 (at least built in on back, front onboard preferably as well)
  • Ability to OC the CPU/RAM (nothing insane of course)
  • ATX Form Factor
  • Great Performance

My wife will be using this PC which will have a 2600K, SSD, RAID 0 secondary drive, 5870 graphics, Xonar Essence ST sound card, multimedia card reader, Blu Ray Drive, and new Gentle Typhoon Fans. She does a lot of graphic design work and some gaming (modern games).

And again I will be getting it from MicroCenter.

This is the link to the page with the Z68 Mobo's they have
. So unless what they have is crap I think I will be getting it from there and taking advantage of the combo deal.

EDIT:
I guess another option would be an ASUS ROG board, but I don't know what makes them special. If I was going to spend $215 + tax (so $230) on the mobo prior to the combo $80 discount then this is only a $30 difference. Now only if Newegg, Superbiiz, or NCIX would pricematch MC price on the 2600K. Then I could just have the best of both worlds. lol.

Hmmm..... seems people really like those ROG boards. Is there something extra nice about them? That ASRock looks nice as well and I have never tried Gigabyte. All I know is I don't want a boot loop issue like I had with previous P67 boards.

I got the Asus ROG board (the P67 one). Looks good too. I think it's the best choice if you wanna get it at Micro Center. They have ASRock Fatal1ty mobo tooo but very limited & only on P67.

Of your list this i can personally comment on and absolutly love it with issues.

However, i did not pay that much for it. Got mine at superbiiz w/ $10 discount and came to $184.99 shipped.

This should work quite well. It only has 2 SATA 6.0Gb/s but it will not make a difference with mechanical drives between using that and the SATA 3.0Gb/s. You don't really need anything fancy like the ROG boards.

My only thoughts on getting deals was this....

I can buy the 2600K online for $280.... and I can get the 2500K for $180. From there I don't know of any motherboard specials on Newegg, Superbiiz, or NCIX, but at Micro Center you get $80 off the combo of a motherboard and the 2600K. But, there is 7% sales tax. However, I have $90 to spend in AmEx credit/gift cards. Which I cannot use those online because of multiple payment options being an issue.

Also, is the Gigabyte a recommended board over either the ASRrock or ASUS? LINK HERE.

Used a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H for one of my 2500K builds. Satisfies all your requirements and I can attest personally that it works very well.
