Solid Works Files

Thread Starter
Hey All,

I am currently in the process of drawing/designing my first complete build...

I was wondering if there were any libraries out there that have parts files with computer parts such as standard size fans, motherboards, and graphics cards. It would make it a lot easier for sizing and fittings if I didn't have to draw every component on the board... thanks.

Btw I am using Solidworks 2011 but can use Inventor as well...

I use Catia myself and also have access to Solid Works.
I'm not aware of any PC component libraries for either other than what I have created myself.
Currently I have models for DVD drives,AT MB tray with 120mm I/O back, some fans 120mm and 230mm,a few other things.

Those I can give to you as a .stp or .igs file(just PM if ya want).

Alot of people here use Google Sketcher and I think there are libraries for that.
I don't know what the file extension Google Sketcher uses, but if they can be saved in another format such as .stp or .dwg or .igs, then you can just import them into Solid Works.

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=203028

with some basic measurments
anything else~I did/recreated myself in solidworks; however I only drew/designed the case

I didn't fit/add any computer components as I did a prelim sketchup model first

Check Turbo Squid, there may be a few items on there. If you do come across some, post a link to them up, I am interested also. It would not be hard to take some measurements and model the items as well.

Found a link within that link for ATX spec's thanks so much.

Like Cook said I will probably just model all my parts up quick today... although I am waiting on my 990fx to come back from an RMA still... will upload some parts files later this week hopefully...

I also have a DWG file of XL-ATX motherboard spacing and I think I have a DWG for standard ATX spacing. I've also zipped 360mm Rad templates and standard 120mm templates (those are in .cdr format though)
