What's this thing called cable TV?

I haven't had it, ever. Nor I watch TV to be honest smile.gif

This is the HD antenna I'm using, great for both UHF and VHF:

http://www.antennasdirect.com/store/ClearStream-C2-VHF-Combo.html

I tried, literally, about a dozen different antennas and this one blows the others completely out of the water.

I went with a Antennas Direct one also. I use the Clear Stream Micron indoor. It picks up all the channels here in the Phoenix area. Works great!

I cancelled my cable service about a year ago and so far it's been decent. I don't subscribe to any services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc, but my house manages to find entertainment with online TV streams for the most part. My girlfriend is pretty good at finding whatever she wants to watch without using torrents.

Where do you have that thing mounted? Attic? Roof?

It's attached to the side of my chimney. It's best to have it outside if possible, although it will work inside. It just won't pull in signals as well.

I've never paid for cable. When I left home, it was always free/included in any apartment complex I lived in. Now that my wife and I have a house, we just don't have cable.

I'll admit that I heavily torrented through college, but after graduating, getting a job and maturing a bit, I try to do things "by the book" now. With a large dvd collection (currently looking at moving towards blu-ray), Netflix and other streaming services I don't want, miss or need cable.
