I actually have Digital HD Cable and i havent watched for almost a year... Sadly its not my choice to get rig of cable and just get fast internet... :/
post #33 of 138
Heya,

I have a digital antennae for local channels in HD (mostly for football season) which include Fox, CBS, ABC, etc. They have to broadcast in HD for free, so if you're looking for that sort of thing, they're there for free. Just tap in. You're already paying for this with taxes.

I pay subscription to Netflix for streaming and a DVD.
I am an Amazon Prime member, and they now have shows and movies to stream.

But the real matter is, when I'm not working on a computer or playing a game or specifically watching a movie, I'm usually off fishing or at a pool-dart-bar that allows smoking of pipes indoors.

TV is for the birds.

Very best,

The internet still can't emulate the pleasing white noise that having a tv on low in the background generates.

I've never actually watched tv..

here in crappy denmark i can (at max) have 50 channels.. 30 of them arent from denmark, but swedish, german etc. And the few channels that i do watch, only send something i bother watching couple of hours per week..

I'm using my PC and the internet instead. Better picture quality as well.. tongue.gif

Haven't picked up a remote to change channels for ~8 years (26yo). Never paid for cable television.

I do watch some shows, but that's only because I am a loser.

I don't have sky any more. Just have freeview which is free-to-air. Hoping to get freeview HD when it's available in our area.

Still have to have a damn TV licence though.

As Bob Dylan eloquently put it; Times they are a changin'

You yanks have Netflix and Hulu, but I have no idea what it's like or how good it is, but at least you're embracing on-demand television. Which is more then I can say for Australia.

Our government funded channels "Australian Broadcasting Channel (ABC)" has a good on-demand service.

Our "cable" service (commonly just called 'pay-tv' to us, or 'Austar') is pretty pathetic and not really worth the stupidly overpriced costs. Been 15yrs since I've seen payed television.
