Nooo wait for the bios update ! didnt u know that windows 7 cant run the cores properly ? they must of been coding with their eyes closed or something ..

/ sarcasm

its not because of windows 7 , nor a bios update .. the problem is AMD

AMD fanboys know how to make up some BS dont they ?

here my opinion ..

Nope. I don't think I'll be going back to intel anytime soon. I don't need something that has higher benchmark scores and etc. I just need something that will run all the programs I need to run without hiccups. biggrin.gif

true lol. Well I just benched my 8150 and can tell you it isnt pretty, all stock settings. I hope there is some software issue though, watching cpu usage as it does everything looks very different than on the 1100t. Seems to try to use all the cores more rather than 1 core on single threaded benchmarks

If you want a sure bet get the 1090/1100 unless you go for an 8120/8150. At least you know its a step up.

Check out the benchmarks, 6100 was benched here

To me it seems like the 6100 will OC to 4.5Ghz easily while the 1090t will typically only get to 4.0Ghz. at those speeds i think the 6100 will beat the 1090t.

I think AMD is shipping the 6100 at a low clock speed so that it doesnt beat the 81XX in the lightly threaded benchmarks. you can see this is the case where the 41XX beats the 6100 and 81XX because of its high stock clock speed.

It's the same situation as the Athlon II X4 and the Phenom II X4. They dont sell high clocked or unlocked Athlon II's because they dont want an Athlon II to outperform a Phenom II.

Dude, this is all wrong. FX needs 5+ghz to compete with 4ghz phenom 2, take the resource sharing, and you've got a cpu significantly slower clock for clock and in multi threaded performance. The only upgrade is an 8 core and even then it can also be viewed as a sidegrade or even downgrade depending on what he's doing.

I think you are exaggerating a little too much saying FX is 1Ghz slower than PII.

My theory is that an OC'd 6100 will perform the same as an OC'd 81XX in most benchmarks except for those that are heavily threaded.

My reference was single threaded performance. And 5ghz FX sPi is around 17.8~ while phenom 2 is usually in 16's if i remember correctly only @ 4ghz.

sPi is a perfectly good reference as well, because it's between 2 AMD processors. No intel excuses please.

Thuban > FX6100. All day. Not to mention Thubans NB on average clocks much 400-500mhz higher than FX's. Thuban is beast.

Source?

I think I saw maybe one review were the they actually changed the north bridge frequency (and it showed performance gains for FX). 99% of the overclocks were done only with the multiplier
