Clock for clock the 2600K will be faster then an 8150 as the 2500K is baby steps slower in multithreaded apps.

Just because you THINK you could clock a BD higher than a 2600K doesn't mean you can. All the reviews are showing BD clocks in the 4.6-4.8 range. We know SBs can run 5ghz. So the BD is slower clock for clock, doesn't overclock as high, and uses more power. They lost.

Really? The people doing it via FSB are hitting 5.3 plus. The people doing it via multiplier are the ones hitting 4.8.

The reviews you see are usually pushed out as fast as possible and most of the time they just up the volts some and then start ticking the multi up untill it crashes then write a review. Its already proven this is not a good way to approach this CPU. It requires Finesse over Force.

In vantage an 8 core bulldozer @4.6 still scores less than a 2600K at stock.

True, but Vantage results are a bit off as they rate the total amounts based off of a lot of other factors in the PC.

Can I get a link to people hitting 5.3ghz stable? I've been checking here, XS, and hard and have yet to much of anything in terms of detailed results from owners of retail chips.

You seem already have the conclusion and only looking for the evidence to support it.

Why not just go to that "8150 all the good" thread instead of wasting time here posting a new one?

well considering i am the one who started the thread that makes your point invalid. Regardless, I am simply looking for true results and tired of people bashing a cpu that is meant to be amazing at overclocking. I will agree that it hasn't lived up to what it was expected but it still isn't a bad piece of hardware. I also think that since it is a new tech that they will work out some kinks in the coming months and it will "hopefully" perform as everyone expected. On top of this the technology really hasn't caught up with utilizing 8cores so OF COURSE an 2600 and 980 with beat it with ease because it has more power per core. So the AMD FX was at a disadvantage from the start.

Just one of many links starting to show up. I picked this one because he is a resident member on the forums. Telling me to go somewhere else because you cannot stomach the fact of being wrong is closed minded and shows little to your character. Face the facts, this CPU was not a failure.

I know you want your beloved Intel to always be the best but for the love of god this is a terrible thought process. It slows down Intels development, It raises prices, its just bad for consumers. The CPU is solid, it does use a lot of juice. Which is a draw back.

AMD has a solid product that is a great stepping stone.
