OC help! M4A87TD/USB3 + OC = Fire? 1090T

Ok so I have read up and think I am heading in the right direction however I fear for my life.

I read on another post -

"4+1 power phase unheatsinked+ 125W x6 processor + overclocking = death sentence. By death sentence, I meant a huge fire risk on most boards."

Is this true? Should I not OC?

Currently I am sitting at my BIOS and afraid to test it without your professional opinions.

Please inform me if this is looking good. I think my CPU/NB offset voltage is too high on auto (1.5). I have searched far and wide for advice with this board and chip however I have found no useful info.

I can however offer this advice to anyone in my situation.

BSOD - 124

DO NOT USE THE ASUS OC TUNER UTILITY. IT WILL CAUSE BSOD

TURN OFF TURBO CORE TECHNOLOGY AND IF YOU WANT TO OC - DO IT YOURSELF. TRUST ME. It is not worth the time trying to figure out whats wrong with your computer. I just spend 2 weeks thinking it was a hardware issue. It ended up being asus messing with the vcore.

OK - now that that's all out of the way, lets get down to business.

Here are my settings. Please feel free to ask me anything or to provide something I am missing.

The CPU and CPU/NB are on AUTO - Oops?

Also.. Do I need to touch anything on the RAM pages? They are all on AUTO.

I am trying here, but I can't wrap my head around it all. Tis why I ask for help.

DO NOT overclock- and have some air going over the vrms: heatsink, fan, etc. xd will have something to say about this..

don't overclock with this board.

1) No cooling for the VRM / MOSFETs
2) Problematic 870 chipset
3) 4+1 phase on a 125w six core CPU + Overclock? **ROFL**

Get a better board if you want to be overclocking before you hurt someone.

I would only be hurting myself.

Ok well that sucks seeing as the board comes with a friggin OCing feature BUILT IN TO THE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the F is that all about.

Currently is my CPU/NB freq too high at 1.5?

Well what board would be better to use if not this piece of crap?

I had a question similar to this a few days ago but never actually got any responses. Is it the amount of voltage you're feeding the CPU or the total power draw that affects VRMs?

Fear for your life!? No, nooooo, the board will initiate protection strategies long before you have a VRM fire tongue.gif
Make sure everything is cooled well (ENSURE THIS!) and you are good. Otherwise you may lose performance.
