A Mp3 player search

Thread Starter
I am looking for an MP3 player that has 16GB or more. It can be ipod, zune (which model tho), or any mp3. No more than $60 (if i were to buy it on ebay)

I dont need video, just music (16+), and long battery life, and I dont really care what generation it is as long as its cheap and meets requirements.

So what devices do you guys recommend?

While I have no immediate recommendation, if you're interested I have a used Emerson MP3 player with a MicroSD slot capable of holding at least an 8GB card. I have not tested higher capacity cards which may or may not work.

I have a fast Class 10 MicroSD 8GB in it now, with 4GB of built-in memory for a total of 12GB. If you'd like it let me know!

Otherwise just as my observation, I never was a fan of the Apple iPod/Nano products. I preferred the Zune, Sansa and others because of native Windows support without having to use iTunes (which I admit I hate). Just my two-cents!

I would Recommend the cowon C2 or any product by cowon for that mater my d2+ is dam near indestructible and has much better quality than any ipod And it has a killer battery life. The c2 is available up to 16gb.

are you willing to buy used? at 16gb you're not going to get anything quality for $60 new. maybe a 8gb sansa fuze/clip (~$50)+8gb microsd card (~$10) which has an average battery life of 15 hours. for $10 more, you can get a 16gb refurbished x-fi at amazon, which has a battery life of up to 36 hours for music, and probably a 16gb sony walkman for a similar price. brand new ipods, zunes and cowons, even their cheapest models, are way out of your price range.

in terms of sound quality, the general consensus at head-fi.org is that cowon players dominate, with certain sansa and creative players, as well as the 2nd generation ipod touch, coming in 2nd, and the rest having negligible differences between them.

16GB? Cheap? Good? Just get a Sansa Fuze (NOT Fuze+) and slap a microSD onto it. Factoring in the budget, go 4GB then a 16GB MicroSD for most storage for the money.

Cowon is so blantantly overrated crap tbh. The only redeeming thing about them (vs. the competition) is the GUI customisation, that's it.

also their flac decompression efficiency, and their built in amp. though i suppose the OP wouldn't care about those things.
