16:9 is a very good size.
A lot of people on here seem not to like it, I think it might be because 16:9 screens are mass produced, and therefore cheaper, and they like to think they have higher end screens or something.
Honestly, its not that much to worry about. I would get a 16:9 because they are cheaper. The pixels dont really count for much difference. When gaming, 16:9's have more immersion because they fill up more of your peripheral vision, just slightly though. 16:10 is more of a square screen - it doesnt sound like it would make too much difference but it definately makes at least some difference.
16:9 is definately the best aspect ratio for gaming in my opinion, because it scales to our vision more then any other ratio. Ill make a picture to show you what I mean.
The premium on a 16:10 monitor is not worth it even in the slightest. 16:9s are much cheaper because they get mass produced for TV as well. As for the workspace, were talking 207,000 pixels vs 230,000 pixels. its not a big difference - 1280x720 has around 900,000 pixels if that helps put it into perspective...Edited by jacobrjett - 10/16/11 at 11:19pm
