650 Seasonic Enough?

Thread Starter
Just putting together some parts, and for the Power Supply I was thinking of going with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...650%20seasonic

The System I have will be:
AMD 5850
Intel 2500k (Stock, ill prolly OC it a bit later on, I will probably eventually drop an Ivy Bridge in there))
8GB Corsair Vengeance (2x4gb)
ASUS P8Z68-V LE LGA 1155 Motherboard
CD/DVD Rom
7200RPM WD 500gb HD
(Plus Fans and such and a 212+ heatsink)

+ probably eventually a SSD.

Is the 650 watt going to be enough? I also am planning on upping my video card eventually (no crossfire/sli) but ill probably get a somewhat top of the line video card around christmas. Is the 650 going to be able to handle that? Even with Ivy Bridge?

Or should I go with a 650 watt.

Thanks!

It is very much enough to handle this rig with two 5850s in it. However, when you say that you're going to get a "somewhat top of the line video card", do you mean something like a single 6970? I mean if so, then the PSU will be overkill.

650 watts are enough for a single card unless the new series of GPUs are super power hungry which I don't think so due to the dye shrinks. Also if you plan to OC try to get the P8Z68-V over the P8Z68-V LE as it has a better power delivery system.

^The 7970 is rumored to be 190w TDP, so it should have similar power consumption to the 5870.

500-550w is enough for any single GPU setup, really. I would pick THIS or THIS.
