Use it like Dropbox. Put whatever you want on it. But, I don't think you will be backing up your iphone to it.

So basically its nothing like iCloud, and you have to manage it from your PC?

iCloud is automated for you iPhone.

This is just storage. You can manage it from your iPhone, Mac, PC, Touchpad, Android.

I use tapnote on the Touchpad and it automatically uploads my notes to box.net.

I just have accounts so that I have access to stuff when I'm away.

It appears to be like dropbox, so yes, and you get the app for your phone and you can see your files in there.
Hmm... I wonder if I can do this to stream my music to my iPod Touch...

I already have a fair sized free dropbox account, but even then, Dropbox can only go up to 8GBs free, and I can't really stream music with it. Or I haven't found a way at least.

Ok thanks mate,

What I wanted to know was does this grab my iPhone contacts, calendars, mail, reminders, bookmarks, notes, photo stream documents and data and auto back them up for me, and does it share that to my iPad automatically?

Thanks anyway.

I would have to say no.

They we just throwing it out there as 50GB of free storage.

I guess my confusion came from this part

"Get 50GB Free Storage for iOS

Sure, iCloud gives you 5GB of free storage. How cute! Box.net just blew it out of the water. For the next 50 days, it is offering iOS users 50 GB of free storage. It's a pirate's bounty!"

They make it as if iCloud and their storage are the same thing.

Anyways, thanks for your help

Yeah, they should specify it's capabilities.

I would have written it differently if I was the author. Maybe tossed in a line about it not doing the same exact thing as iCloud.

Eh, oh well. Dropbox is a lot easier to use, but limited space. But hey, I'm not about to turn down an offer of free space.

And hey, even though Dropbox is easier to use, getting 50GBs on dropbox costs $100 a year rather then $0 forever. I can live with that trade off, though I can't imagine my self using it that much...
