haha I'm pretty sure its limited to the phone/table aspect but I'm making a point.

Apple has come across with the "Your tablet and phone is rectangular so it infringes on our patents". When, like I said above, most screens, and devices are square or rectangular in shape because it is practical. I mean I wouldn't want a oval or circle phone or tablet lol.

@refeek - I laughed when you mentioned the 3rd grade nonsense. But yet... You posted a pic of a cartoon trying to be dumb funny. Irony.

I also chuckled when you spoke of how apples products are unaffordable. How? I've had no problem purchasing apples products. Own quite several. Still have 2 iPhone 4. 2 iPhone 4S, iPod nano touch, 32gb iPod touch and gonna be buying the iPad 2 soon and an apple tv 2 for my home theater setup for my kids tv.

All about money management. So you can complain all you want but it's ridiculous to complain just because people out there do not know how to save money.

As for it's patent trolling and supposed unethical tactics. They're a business and have definitely changed the world and how every company designs their phones and tablets. I'll defend apple but some things I will not.

So for me. I refuse to be classified and insulted as an isheep person. I love their products and I'll buy quality products. But when it comes to how they are in the courts. I could care less cuz it does not concern me, the general consumer. Am I against their stupidness, of course.

I don't see how it doesn't concern you. If Apple manages to take complete control of the market via their BS patents, then why would they need to improve upon things if there is no competition?

I do like some Apple products, I think iOS is a more polished smoother version of Android and the fit and finish of most of their products is superb. But that doesn't mean I don't want to see what another company will produce to compete with it. It would suck to not have competing companies.

I am really only upset by a lot of this because when I sit back and think if this was how every major company holding many patents acted then where would we be in the market? What would cars look like? How would anyone design anything with a minimal mindset when manufacturers have patents on basic shapes?

When it comes to a phone. I believe apple has just about perfected it. How much more clean looking could it get.

All that's left IMO is improving gps, battery life and um... To stop being stupid in courts.

@strat - how is it ironic when even on a pc, the images wouldn't load. So it obv was not an iPhone issue.

If it's been said once, it'll be said again: this is all ridiculous and we're tired of these frivolous lawsuits. Sadly, the only people Apple caters to is its large herd of sheep, and they have no idea/wouldn't care about what's going on...
I know a guy who said they deserve to take over the market. It's a sick cult...

It will load on a normal PC that has quicktime. I just refuse to put quicktime on mine, not because I hate Apple or anything just don't ever use it and it is quite bloated. I am not one of those Apple haters, just thought it was funny that an Iphone/Pad didn't come pre-equipped with their own propriety software. As well as the patent site using Apple plugin to view the pictures, both were just funny and ironic. Don't read too much into it, I was just poking fun.

Oh my, the irony.
I lol'd too, because a design patent only covers a design under certain circumstances.

Quote:
While a design patent may be issued for a utilitarian article, such a patent may be obtained only to the extent that the ornamental features dominate the functional features. To the extent to which a design is predominately utilitarian in nature, it is not protectable by a design patent in the United States.
The bold means: if the design of a product is out of general convenience and good usability, the design is not protected. A thin, squared shape for a tablet is most DEFINITELY the conventional, comfortable shape and size for a tablet. Can you imagine holding a hexagonal, octagonal, or triangular shaped tablet? Hellonwheelz won't collaborate and respond with his thoughts on that; he actually "ignored" me, and I'm very hurt by that.

Lol, also, check out:
