Which Video Card? Help me evaluate my new build ;)

I have a partial build next to me right now, and a pretty powerful 1 at that.
So, I plan to complete it and give the build to my bro

Parts I have:
i7 960
Asus x58 Sabertooth
12Gb Dominator RAM
HX650

Parts to add on:
1) Noctua NH-U12P (Got it 2nd hand; 3 months old with TP and both Noctua fans for half price, pretty sweet )

2) 5850 ref cooler($180) vs 560ti Hawk($300) Take note this is Singapore currency.
S$1.20 : US$1 Is the 560ti worth the premium being paid? I want the build to be as silent as possible. These are 2nd hand. 5850 half a year old/560ti 2 months old

3) 500Gb WD Black as boot drive/storage. Looking out for a 2nd hand SSD.

4) Fractal Define R3 Black. Does the white 1 turn yellow? Is there also a case out there of the same size and price range and has the same sleekness that fits longer GPUs?

For DVD burner, I will just chuck in the one in my build to install Windows and take it back out.

Thanks for any suggestions and opinions

1) Nice. From what I've read a very capable cooler
2)Depends on what you value. The 560 ti is a bit better but not sure if its worth almost double. Heres a comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/295?vs=330
3)Solid drive I have a WD black as well! Try to get a Crucial M4 for the SSD I've heard nothing but good things about them.
4)I love the fractals. I'd stick with the black R3!

Good luck on your build!

Yup, the Noctua seems great from the reviews, this 1 has some stains at the bottom, but no scratches, but its half the price with fans included. 2 Retail new Noctua fans cost the same as this 2nd entire set.

I think I am going to not go with the 5850, the ref cooler seems abit too loud for comfort. I think I will be going with the Sapphire 5850 Xtreme 2nd hand, which is like S$30 more. probably CFX a new one with it. And 2 of these cards cost like less than half of a GTX580 but running 2 of the cards in sandwich make me worried about temps. Can someone tell me if the temps will be fine, and the HX650 will run those in CFX? Pretty sure they do, but not sure.

Yup, using the M4 in my rig, with the 0009 Firmware, the Asrock's very fast Bios boot, I get from power button to MSN messenger in 20 seconds. Now I cant go back to a HDD anymore, so I want to share this speed with my bro, but really need to look for a good price.

Yea, will probably stick with the black 1. Since, I only spot the white 1s in the stores. And get a few white NZXT 120mms to go with the case. Are the NZXT fans better than the Fractal stock fans?

My queries are in bold. Thanks for any help

My aim is to make the build as silent as possible, yet decent enough to play games at med-high settings at above 40FPS (BF3). Hence, the Noctua cooler, Fractal R3.

I would say the fractal fans would be fine. I watched a review of the r3:

and he says the case is quite adequate at cooling his system. That was with the stock fans so I wouldn't worry about replacing them. I would just put the NZXT fans in the spots where Fractal left an open fan mount.

As for the video cards I would make sure you put an intake fan on the side mount of that case to blow directly on them. And for the PSU question I would try: http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...candidate.html hes a proffesional!

Hmm, I cant get the PSU Calculator working, so can somebody verify for me?

Does a HX650 power my system with 5850 Xtreme CFX? I wont be overclocking that CPU for now?

And will the noise levels be very high? They will be in sandwich sadly.

The PSU calculator i used (extreme power supply calculator) recommended 416W so the HX650 will be enough for that kind of setup.
