So you're telling me that if I back up to iCloud, then it will store my pictures and videos, but if I back up to my own computer, it does not? That seems silly...

Maybe I should just call up Apple support or something.
It'll back up all your photos and videos, yes, but not sync them to your computer.

Here's how to import them depending on your OS: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

This was the key - I didn't have the photos folder checked! Thanks!

Grrr, nevermind, problem not solved. When I sync'd after checking the "Sync Photos From" box, all it did was bring the photos I had in "My Pictures" folder on my computer onto my phone. Not what I wanted! It didn't put any of my phone pictures onto my computer.

Shucks, I was hoping to be able to automatically copy all of my pictures and videos to my computer without me even having to think about it. Guess that won't be the case.

PhotoStream does that, otherwise you'll have to just import them.

Simply do this...

Create a folder in your My Pictures folder, call it whatever you like, I have mine labeled iPhone. Go into your phone via Explorer, not iTunes. From there, you will be able to see all pictures and video on your phone. Copy all that, place it into the folder you just created.

Go into iTunes, select your phone, go to Photos, and point your sync to that folder. Every time you sync your phone now, it should copy your media over onto your computer.

I have Photo Stream enabled, so there's a bunch of pictures in that folder on my iPhone as well as the regular Camera Roll folder. But they still did not sync.

I'll give that a try, thanks for the suggestion.
