Try dropping your ram to a slower speed. And don't increase the ram until you have it stable. I had my Q9450 at 3.8 on a different board.

I'd drop RAM to stock and focus on the CPU. There are some good reads here on overclocking methods...

I wasn't able to get my Q9450 stable @ 3.8Ghz.

3.6Ghz
Vcore = 1.425 (high)

*What is your highest stable OC?

It has been a while since I OCed.

With the 4 memory modules, I had to up the timings on my RAM. Not the main timings, the 'advanced' timings that I don't fully understand.

Although, I'm referencing my OC with an old NVIDIA chipset (sig) to your X38.

Can you please write down here the settings for your actual OC? (when you'll reboot, no hurry...)

Try these settings:

Ai Overclock Tuner = MANUAL
CPU Ratio = 8x
FSB = 450MHz
STRAP= 400
DRAM freq = 1200MHz
DRAM Timings = 9-9-9-27 and the rest on AUTO

Vcore=1.xxV (what CPU needs for 3.6GHz but DO NOT go over 1.40V)
vPLL= 1.54V
CPU GTL = 0.63x
vFSB = 1.30V
vNB = 1.46V
vRAM = 1.xxV (what's your RAM rated voltage)

Load Line Calibration = ENABLED
CPU Spread Spectrum = DISABLED
PCIE Spread Spectrum = DISABLED
CPU & NB Skew = AUTO

Keep the core temperatures under 75C at all time!!!

Thank you KingT.
I've tried your sets, fact is I can't push NB V more than 1.45 or the system once in windows crash losing video signal. If I try to lower NB V the power isn't enough (IMO) to run 450 FSB as I can't load the OS. Any thoughts about this?
I'll try to push little by little the FSB from 410 to what I can achieve with no more than 1.43 NB V
