Best sound card(s) for 1st. gaming 2nd music ???

Thread Starter
Just curious as I have been out of the loop (aka using onboard sound) for awhile, as to what the generally accepted "best" gaming sound card is. I would be MOST interested in enhancing my gaming experiences but I do listen to a lot of music as well and mostly through sennheiser hd 555's atm.

Do you use speakers on your PC often? If not, the Creative X-Fi Titanium HD is usually considered the best gaming sound card. I actually think it equals the Asus Xonar Essence STX for how good it sounds in music as well.

I'm not just making crap up either, I actually own both sound cards, and they're both considered top of the line.

I'm interested in this too. My system is hooked up to a hifi with some reasonably good speakers and I listen to a lot of music through my computer. I game with the speakers too but I do have a headset (some turtlebeaches). I don't have much to spend though
