AMD's FX-8150 central processing unit has started to decrease in price already, even though it has only been out for about five days or so.

Right now, it can be found online at 213 Euro ($292.42) instead of the original 245 Euro ($336.36).

thought this was bound to happen sooner or later...thoughts??

It was about time someone saw the whole picture. AMD's behaviour with BD has been unacceptable and took advantage of the hype building with every unreleased 'fake' BD which truth be told, wasn't that fake at the end of the day.

Unacceptable?

They are a company, they do what they can to make money, people in the community started talking to each other saying this and that about BD will dominate, they took advantage of the unoffical hype that people made up and put it to good use.
Do i think AMD is becoming irrelevant? Hell No.
Do i think it has royally pissed off some fans? Yes, definitely.
Do i think AMD will recover and fix BD, to some extent? Yes.

I want to see the 8120 under $200 USD

Not completely sure about decrease in price. Micro Center is advertising the FX-8150 for only $259. That's much lower than the decreased price.

So the 8150 has always been in that range. I don't think this is a decrease or reduction to be honest.

You know your product sucks when you drop the prices 5 days after its release and it was already rather cheap to begin with.

AMD have some huge issues atm and tbh, will they ever catch Intel again? The answer is a resounding no. Intel are way too far in front now. AMD may still challenge in the entry and lower mid-range but Intel will always be in front for the foreseeable future.

AMD have less money, worse architectures, worse time management and change CEO's more often than Hugh Hefner changes girlfriends.

This must be by individual units. Last I heard, the 8150's were sold in lots of 1k for $245 each.

Hasn't the 8150 been performing the same as the 2500k, or near it in the gaming benchmarks? Then wouldn't the 8150 be a better choice for the future, taking account that games will start supporting more cores?
