[SP]AMD Is Already Cutting 8-Core FX-8150 Bulldozer CPU Price - Page 11

'Dozer wasnt a failure; the failure falls upon the millions of software manufacturers out there that havent utilized multithreading as it should be. Sounds like the hexas arent being fully pushed, kinda got that impression about the quads to an extent.

just an optimistic thought, blaming someone else. it's the american way, after all.

Do a search on Intel's quad core release when they first released the Q6600s vs the E8400's.

You all hailed it as a titan, even though core for core it was NOT equal, you all hailed it as the best thing since sliced bread.

Now that a similar situation has arisen...In fact the exact same situation, it's hailed as a failure...a lie...fake.

I think you all need to stop being hypocrites and realize that occasionally it takes a small step backwards in order to take a giant leap forwards.

That is all.

How is it the exact same situation? E8400 came out after the Q6600. Not to mention the Q6600 wasn't that much slower than the E8400 in single threaded scenarios. If you compare a Q9450 to the Q6600 it was better in every way. If you compare the FX-4100/6100 to the PII X4 or X6, the FX loses to the PII in every benchmark.

Stop making excuses, BD is garbage.

2500k is pretty much cream of the crop in price versus performance right now, even before considering its idiot proof OC ability.

I would not say so, my colleagues back at home in the US work in some big data centres that use AMD only. Not exactly sure why but they do.

BTW on the whole bulldozer was a failure thing I think AMD lack consistency and Intel don't. Simple And anyone in business knows that consistency is very very important.

Intel indeed does have 94-95% of the server marketshare. BD isn't all that attractive in server area due to the high power requirements. No IT guys will touch BD.

Im not saying anything about bulldozer and I agree, we had a discussion at lunch today and it would cost more than I earn in a year to run bulldozer in the servers. I just think from what I have heard that AMD are dying in the server market but if they make a right move somewhere they could make a comeback.
Note the word IF and and very big word that is for AMD

I'd buy it for $99.99, not a penny more.

That is all.

1. Did 6 cores suck when they were released? wink.gif

2. And then what happened when people started OC'ing their Q6600??? The only reason there was a performance discrepancy was because the E8400 is faster out of the box. Also, don't tell me people didn't edit videos, generate graphics, create music, etc in 2008.
