MicroCenter: 2500K

You see how it says "Our Price"? And right above it, you see where it says "RetailOriginal Price"?

So no, their price is not their retail price.

i've seen fx-8150's for 221 euros without shipping from day one here... now its 8 euros cheaper! /pacepavementafterfallingofascyscraper

edit: now theyre 211 euros without shipping.

i5 2500k is 175 and performs better overall

1100t is 163 and performs better sometimes and has less power draw

1090t is 140

hmmmm

No matter whose product it is...

Cutting the price 5 days after launch?

That is surely not good for their flagship product and will end up hurting sales. So what, it's cheaper now. Seeing a price cut in 5 days could possibly make anyone who is still seriously thinking about buying one of these wait for another price cut.

AMD has stabbed themselves in the foot on a few different levels here.

And... AMD has been mostly irrelevant since E6850/Q6600 was released, IMO.

Clock for clock the 8150 can't keep up to the 2600K and barely beats the 2500K

SB-E Drops in less then a month, Ivy Bridge in less then 5. BD will be all but forgotten come november 15th. In fact i can hear the amd fans complaining about comparing the 3930K vs 8150 comparo's already. It's ok to compare the 8150 to the 980X but not the 3930K eh boys?
"Clock for clock" is a useless comparison - it doesn't matter anywhere. Power consumption does, however.

SB-E is not a competitor to bulldozer. Ivy Bridge is, but it's not out yet, but there's no point speculating on its performance (aside from overclocking headroom due to the die shrink).

Yep. What's just as worrisome is that facts are ignored, and speculation just runs rampant.

Your post is as bad, if not worse. As in off topic troll. There is a report button the red triangle. If rules are broken use it.

OT
AMD stock opened at $4.55 a share this AM. They are in trouble. I really wanted BD to compete. We will see how low they can go.

I've seen in them penny stocks, below $2.00 but the economics where in better shape.

How do you figure? Both chips are unlocked and can hit the same speeds. Clock for clock is ideal for comparison.

Sigh...
What nobody in this argument seems to realize is the fact that hex/octo/whatever cores are often useless because CONSOLES have hobbled most games by forcing them to comply with inferior hardware.
When the next MS and Sony consoles drop, expect quad and lower performance to tumble on newer games. And expect IPC to be traded for thread count.

This reminds me so much of the 9600 BE.. IT was supposed to be this beast Clocker.. And then you could barely over clock it a few tenths. Now you can over clock the juice out of it and still can't get the Benchies we wanted.. Time for a hand made die.. Not the Printer quicky version.

One idiotic statement doesn't deserve another. Let's not get crazy here. "Most" of Intels innovative ideas came from AMD? That's why AMD who apparently has these same innovative ideas isn't able to use them like Intel does?
