Wii problems

Thread Starter
My favourite OC forum thought I would ask a Wii question here to see if the experts can help.

I recently got a non-working Wii for free that a friend bought in a bulk sale. The unit powers on (green light) but there is no video out (or at least the TV says NO INPUT SIGNAL). I have been doing some research and I tried holding reset just after pushing power in order to access the StartMenu but it does not work.

Any ideas? I'm guessing this is a full brick but don't know if there are any remedies if you can't get to the preloader. Any chance this is a hardware issue? Graphics board gone or something of that nature. Yes I have double and triple checked the connection (and the same for the guy who gave it to me).

Thanks!

Sounds like it may need to be repaired. From what you describe, there is just no way of knowing if its hardware or software. Could be bricked... could be a malfunction...could be anything. Its worth a shot to see if you can get Nintendo to fix this for free. Go to here and follow the steps. Who knows where that Wii has been and done, but you may get lucky and get a free fix from them.
