General Announcement 10-17-2011

Thread Starter
I will no longer be accepting full case mod work in 2011 and I have no plans to reopen the shop in 2012.

I have one epic case mod underway, the Gemini Project, and that will mark the end of my Pro Modding Career for the foreseeable future.

Regarding Powder Coat: the facility called today to let me know future turn around times will be 5-6 weeks due to their work load. If you can deal with waiting that long for powder coat service I will accept work for the rest of 2011. But I don't think most people will...I know I wouldn't. So that service pretty much folded up on its own.

Regarding Custom Reservoir Orders: I am not getting enough orders to really justify keeping this alive in 2012 and in about a week I will no longer be accepting orders for 2011. I appreciate the orders I have received, but one or two reservoirs a month is not going to make this a viable entity for CyberDruidPC.

Regarding small mods like side panel windows, rad and fan holes, etc: I see no reason to keep this going once I finish the Gemini Project. Much like the custom reservoirs, getting a couple of panels to mod each month is not a business. I am in a position where I have no time for hobbies. 2 Kids, chores, maintenance, bills, they can't all get the attention they need when I spend half the day answering emails and piddling about in my shop.

So in short it's once again time for the CyberDruid to retire from the Pro Mod scene. I appreciate your interest in my work and I thank all my past clients for their support. I've had some very interesting client commissioned work this year.

Of course I will continue on with the Gemini Project until it has reached its apex and then I will hand deliver the product to CJ and call it quits.

Thanks again~

I've got 800 videos on youtube. When you get a hankering for some CDPC modding you can get a total overdose.

Already had the overdose! Need more!

But seriously, I understand the family and other stuff needing priority.

Are we free to PM you and ask for advice?? I'm new to the community and new to acrylic but I've been around longer than I've been posting and I love your videos. Awesome work man, I hope I can have that kind of material some day! God Speed

I answer my PMs, but I have posted all that info and more repeatedly and Syrillian started a thread specifically about working with plastics and I have FAQa on that and so on and so forth so it's pretty much a time waster for me to go over the same territory in private when the resources are at your fingertips.

Sorry to hear about this. You are one of the all time greats in this hobby and you will be missed. I understand the whole family issue myself. I have gone from building new PC's every two months or so to finishing my final mod/build for the foreseeable future. It's time I started to devote more time to the family and less to my hobby. Anyway, you will be missed and I hope you stick around on the forums, your knowledge and help is appreciated by many here and so many more forums.

Thanks Buddy.

What confuses me the most is I have now been receiving multiple requests per day for custom work from YouTube members (and a few OCN members as well). But my mind is made up and I will not back track on my decision.

I just wish I did not have to quit to get people interested in my work

The exclusivity factor is always important... however, I must say though, from the depths of my heart, your sense of humour, hospitality, and work are all top notch and I will be saddened to see you leave the scene.

This thread needs more posts, period. This man has poured of himself into the ocn community for a long time now and shared his skills and knowledge freely as well as offered time from his personal life to make awesome products.

CyberDruid I for one was glad you took the time to post so much info out there for others to learn from, and as its sad to see you retire. I learned quite a bit from your guides and random videos as was as some inspiration.

Its also honorable to see the reason why, Life and Family is always more important. I hope you enjoy your time with the family and loved ones.

Again, thanks for taking the time and share with us the years of knowledge you have acquired, I’m sure it will inspire future case modders well into the future.
