it should do well at 1920x1200, I run my 6970 in Bad Company 2 at all settings maxed out no problem with solid FPS, and was getting ~around 60 FPS all high settings in BF3 beta no AA. Just got a second 6970 thats coming in the mail today to really max things out smile.gif

if you do end up with the 2600k, make sure you get $20 off with this combo for it and the case:

Microcenter has the better deal if OP is by one
Link for 2500k not 2600k(not needed)

agreed. if anything i would keep the gpu the same, just go to the Twin frozr 3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127575

if you dont want to go with the tf3, then go for a 560 Ti. 570 is pricey, but you could go with the asus dcII 570, it runs quieter and cooler, its $350. but yeah stick with the 6950, just switch to a tf3 for quiet and cooler operation.

no need to get the 2600k unless youre doing video editing, encoding, etc. 2500k works just fine for gaming and you wont have to fork over $100 extra and if you want to overclock then get a cooler.

So I'll probably need 2 to max out BF3?

I'd recommend the new Hitachi 7k.1000D 1TB drive instead. So far the fastest 1TB drive out there since it's using single-platter.

yea if that would even do it, they suggest SLI Nvidia GTX 580s for Ultra Settings. Not really necessary. I would have been fine running bf3 on 1 6970 at high settings really no need for me to get a second but I did anyway so I can do ultra. Just grab what you can afford now then you can always crossfire/sli down the road when you have money for another card, thats what I did. But to start a single 6950 @ 1920x1600 will run bf3 fine just not maxed out. If you decide you want to use 3 monitors for eyefinity or run ultra settings thats when a second will come in handy.
