New PC system planned, Need the most handy tips!!!!

Hello Overclocker.net!

So I first wanted to go for the following system:
- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
- ASUS Crosshair IV Formula
- 2x HD6870
- Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit
- XFX 650W XXX Edition
- Zalman CNPS9900A LED

But recently I saw the reviews and performance of a 6950 . Now I have the following, Because my budget would then explode like crazy should it be fine if I do it in parts? Like first month the CPU, MB, Memory and then the 2x 6950 2GB from Club 3D? They are 222 euros each at Alternate ( the website im always ordering ).

Second Would those parts be able to power those 2 cards?.
Im really going crazy atm after seeing that .

Pardon if its hard to understand or mission information

If you can, go for an i5-2500K, it is much better in terms of cost per performance. Especially if you are gaming. If you are doing something that needs more than 4 cores you will want to compare the two, usually the i5 is better.

Upgrade if you like... Pick whatever you like...

However, with new chips again around the corner with in the next q, and year. and with PCI 3.0 coming soon and the new AMD 7000 series if you can wait.. Wait...

that is what i would do and save your money for when all that hits.

Only issue is there is always going to be new hardware, so he can always be waiting. But yes, the new hardware is coming out soon. Then you can get discounted prices on the hardware you are looking at now.

+1 for the 2500k, much better than the phenom
+1 for the 6950, the 6870 would be a "wasted" upgrade I imagine since it will phase out much faster than a 6950 2gb which can be unlocked to a 6970...
650w would be alright, but a 750 might be more adequate for the long run.

Go for Windows Home Edition and then get a 6950/6970, the extra cost of ultimate is not worth it imo, then what you save there can go to a better card.

I really don't see anything wrong with this system... dual 6870s will be fine for 1080p. Throw an SSD in there and you're golden really.
