Help! pc won't boot, no display

hi people,

firstly my specifications:

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
Memory:
3072MB RAM Kingston 133
Hard Drive:
2 hdd's: 1 500 gb caviar blue wd, and samsung 1 tb
Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Motherboard:
Intel DH55TC

sorry if I posted in the wrong forum but I'm new here.
yesterday I really made a mess out of my pc.
I started reading about overclocking, and I thought I got it, so I went expirimentating. but things went out of hand, I started way too high.

so I got into my bios and cranked up the values, raised the multieplier and base. I read somewhere that I had to lower my ram speed, so I did that. i exited and saved the changes. when I tried to boot my pc then, I had a blank screen, no bios beeps, but all fans spinning and hdd's + videocard working.

So firstly I resetted my cmos and bios, with no effect, still no screen. Then I checked my ram, took all the unessential components out, still with no result.
then I discovered that as soon as I put the power on, my pc boots, and when I shut it down, it boots again..

then i removed my motherboard to check for any faults, with no results. I'm thinking it might be the RAM.

any help would be very very nice!

thanks in advance

Hello, gemzaa31.

Before you do any further testing with your components, I want you to ahead and remove the power cord from the computer. After you've done that, hold down the power button for about 10 seconds to drain any residual power. After you've done that, go ahead and reset the CMOS again.

Boot it up and see if everything's working.

Well, in some cases people fry their GPU doing stuff like this. Try with another video card just to get that out of the equation.

so, I removed the power cord, held the button for 10 seconds, and resetted my cmos again, but still no result...
when I put the power back on, the computer boots automaticly in a few seconds.
when I shut it down, it automaticly boots within a few seconds.

thanks in advance

Can you further explain your issue, please? I'm not too sure what you mean.

Assume the worst when troubleshooting. Try the video card swap, maybe try unplugging the hdd's, try another psu, I found out doing it this way that it was my hdd. Wouldn't even get past the boot logo.

when I boot my pc, I get no screen.
right now everything is removed except from one stick of RAM and my psu.
when my pc boots I hear/see nothing except for the fans to start. my sound card and graphics card are out of the system. I already tried a different psu, and I left the cmos battery out last night. I already reconnected everything, and checked my motherboard for burnmarks.
I just changed some Hertz values, and stood away from the voltages.

Thanks! It sounds like a motherboard issue to me more than anything else. Do you have another motherboard on hand to try?
