To be honest with myself I understood the whole thing a while ago but my mind simoly refused to accept the sheer fact.
A Hyper 212 can achieve and handle a 4GHz overclock pretty well i think. But if you want to go for high clocks on air you shouldn't be saving on a cooler.

Words of wisdom. The more confident with my new rig I'll get the more I'll OC so I'm planning to slowly overclock to a fine 4.5Ghz in the future. That's why I decided to save somewhere else. I still don't where but I'll be saving...food, maybe...mmm......worth giving it a thought...

You should search this forum with "Hyper 212 temp"
And see what you think of the results from other users. I've seen some (only entered a few threads) that had a nice 4,5GHz overclock with a Hyper 212 and had temps of around 70C
But i guess the temps all depends on your chip if it needs alot of voltage to reach the OC or not.

I'll be installing it on a Carbide 500R and will be doing OC to some extents.
try an h80 I think that would do..

I'm running 4.2 GHz with 2600k / Corsair H80 setup.
At full throttle it tops of at around 60-62C. My case is a Coolermaster HAF922, so not too much space there either.

Prolimatech Armagaeddon looks like a Megahalems on diet, which is good.

if you are looking for slim heatsink due to RAM clearance, then you can just go with a HR-02 macho and still have a fat heatsink with plenty of clearance.

The corsair H series coolers are impressive but I can't spend 90 - 100€ to cool the cpu...as I wrote before I'm trying to save some money...with more or less 50€ I think I'll be sticking to a dear old air cooler...
