They're the Dr. Dre headphones. Since cost on those is like literally $50, anything above that is margin. If you're asking me did he overpay? I don't know. If he got them for $90 that seems reasonable.

the sound quality on those are on par with $90 of any other performance brand earphones, so no i wouldn't say he over paid.

but if he paid full MSRP price ($180) then i would say yes he over paid.

well at least he will get street cred and the women will love him now due to brand power at half the price. (/sarcasm)

At 90$ it's not that bad. The beats headphones are a bit like macs. Mostly, you pay for the style and the brand name. Basically, it's like getting a mac at PC price .

For $90 thats not too bad IMO, got mine for $100 last year. But you can find some their other models sometimes for as low as $50-70 online (heartbeats [gen 1], diddy beats and justbeats) although i believe the armatures are different in those models then to the tours. Although personally i prefer the turbine golds compared to the rest of the line up.

Good discount however even factoring in that, gees, he could of got so much better for the money.

i think so. i could understand if they were the beats solos or beats pros, since those are mostly for aesthetic appeal, but IEMs pretty much all look alike when they're in your ear, which means his decision should have been based purely on sound quality, which the tours do not have.
