Closing it doesn't stop the services. Disable "hardware acceleration" should take care of it. Give it a try.

Have you tried re-installing the drivers? Is there a slightly older/newer driver that you could install to see if the problem persists?
When the problem started I was using an older version of the driver, because I hadn't checked for an update in a while, but the problem continued after updating it to the newest version.
I am going to see if I can find what is using my GPU in the background, I'll keep you posted on what I find out..

Thanks,

J

PS. I only use Opera, does it to the same thing as IE9, Firefox and Chrome?

If you are on Beta Forceware, try roll back to latest WHQL see if it is the driver, very unlikely though. Simple way just "disable hardware acceleration" and see if it still does it.

The voltage on your GPU moves in increments of .0125 so moving it .001v wouldn't register anything. That and it takes a LOT more than a thousandth of a volt to affect something.

What's the highest voltage your GPU shows it can go to? o.O

I have disabled hardware acceleration on VLC and YouTube, but am still experiencing the lag. Is there any other programs I should be checking for this setting?

Also...

On MSI Afterburner I can boost the voltage up to 1150mV, the default is 1088mV, what is a safe amount of voltage to increase to?
