Hyper threading is needed for video editing, animation rendering, games don't need hyper threading.
If you can afford an i7 2600k then surely go for it.

yea dude thats a prety good setup im not too keen on the tri fire, i have a power bill i am really keen to get the P8Z68-V-Pro, is it even that good a motherboard? i was thinking of a gtx590?
i would not go for the H80 cooler.
its very loud at full speed and you need it at full speed to cool as good as the Silver Arrow and D14 so go for one of those.

As for the motherboards, Aniket's suggestion is a high end board. If you can afford it then go ahead otherwise Asus P8Z67 V Pro is fine although if you dont need on board video or ssd cache the P8P67 Pro/Evo will do.

the gtx 580 has higher clock speeds then the 590 so in my opinion the 580 is better for gaming but the 590 is better for video editing and rendering.....i also recommend liquid cooling with these high end products
